May I thank the committee and members for voting for me to judge this wonderful event and thank them also for their entries and attendance on the day. Thanks also go to Mr Ben Reynolds-Frost for stewarding for me and Jenny for helping keep things in order.

I had a fabulous entry of dogs and was overall pleased with the temperament and type although I have to say, movement gives me concern.

Too many dogs were ran around the ring like German shepherds, too fast and showing no lift and hover on the move. There were of course some that had hover but few and far between.

Dentition was pretty good overall but teeth could be cleaner.

Lithe and able to work the ground must also be considered even for a show dog.

My view of the breed is a finely built, lithe, elegant dog of which the head and movement are of importance to me. These points differentiate the Ibizan from the other Mediterranean breeds.

Puppy Dog (1) 1st Woodcock’s - Abbotsoak Any Dream Will Do. Very pretty head with good shape and planes. Ears well set and used and correct eye colour. At 6 months, just a baby and will come together with time but a very good start.

Junior Dog (1) 1st Woodcock’s - Abbotsoak Music of the Nite. Litter brother to puppy

and the same remarks. This boy is just a little more immature at this stage but I am sure they will change places often. Very nice type.

Post Graduate Dog (2/1 abs.) 1st Hamilton & Rainsbury’s – Alanaura Incognito Ipotane, very nice red/white male with excellent head and eye, good chiseling and well placed ears. They could be a bit stronger but do not detract from the overall picture. Long neck into well placed shoulder and ample degree of angulation to upper arm. Forelegs straight. Ribbing and length of loin conform to the breed standard. Well set on tail and rear angulation moderate and matching fore. Slight hover and moved at correct speed although he was a little playful.

Limit Dog (2) 1st Brown’s - Vladimir Rjabina de Bergerac (imp) Mainly red dog of heavier type with good bone and substance for ‘fit for function’ duties. Decent head with correct eye colour and ear set. Neck could be a little longer. Adequate degree of slope to shoulder and upper arm without over doing it. Good ribbing and slightly long in loin but nitpicking. Topline gives the appearance of being a tad high in the rear. Movement OK with slight hover. A little loose in front action, needs to tighten.

2nd Catchpole’s – Falconcrag Spanishsteps. White larger framed boy with excellent head and ear carriage. Long neck into well placed shoulder. Not holding his topline today as he has a slight roach but he did move with a hover and at the right speed to suit the dog. Well handled.

Open Dog (3) 1st Woodcock’s Ch. Snowlief Turn The Page. White male of good size and proportions. Excellent head with slight convex to muzzle and flat cheeks with some chiseling. Eyes of correct colour and shape and strong erect ears, well used. Lean neck into well placed front assembly. If being picky, I would like slightly longer pasterns. Well ribbed and strength over the loin which held his topline on the move. Moderate angulation front and rear. Would like to see more hover of which he may show at a slower pace.

Dog CC.

2nd Phair & Egan’s – Snowleif Heart Full of Soul, brother to 1st this males head appealed to me a little more as it is more refined and I loved his length of neck. Slightly more steep in shoulder than 1 but having a better pastern. Good body shape and correct moderate rear angulation. Moved close on the rear. Very close decision in the class.

3rd Carter & Hozempa’s Ch. Amahte Running On Jamaican Time (imp) JW Sh.CM.

Special Open Rough Coat Dog (3) 1st Clark’s – Benjique Brother Benedict at Canequiss, Mainly white with excellent rough coat. Good head planes and length to foreface. Correct ear and well used. Overall a very balanced dog with enough angulation front and rear. Moved a little fast at the beginning but when slowed showed a hover in his stride. Res CC.

2nd Carter & Channon’s – Afilador Moonlight Shadow Sh.CM, another good rough coat in texture. Excellent head planes and correct eye colour. Well set on and used ears. Good body with correct angulation front and rear. His movement was a little erratic and rear hocks moved close.

3rd Woodcock’s – Benjique Flavious Belby.

Special Open Smooth Coat Dog (2) 1st Hamilton & Rainsbury’s -Alanaura Incognito Ipotane (winner of PGD) 2nd Catchpole’s - Falconcrag Spanishsteps.

Special Open Mainly White Dog (2) 1st Woodcock’s - Ch. Snowleif Turn The Page, 2nd Catchpole’s – Falconcrag Spanishsteps.

Special Open Mainly Chestnut or Lion Dog (2) 1st Hamilton & Rainsbury’s -Alanaura Incognito Ipotane. 2nd Carter’s – Afilador Thunderbolt. Again a pleasing head with correct planes and good eye colour. Well used strong ears. Good length of neck into moderately steep shoulder. Ribbing a little rounded but with good length of loin and overall balance of front and rear angulation. Would like to see more settled movement.

Veteran Dog (4) 1st Clark’s – Benjique Brother Benedict at Canequiss. 2nd Carter & Channon’s – Afilador Moonlight Shaddow. 3rd Benjique Flavious Belby.

Puppy Bitch (3) 1st Brian’s – Abbots Oak Sky of Flames. Stunning mainly white bitch that took my breath away. Had all the quality of a super star. Beautiful head with length to muzzle equal to that of skull, slightly convex and with sufficient underjaw. Well set on ears which were strong and she used them at all times like little radars. Overall femininity and elegance. Fine and narrow build with long lean neck into the best of shoulder, upper arm configuration (conjunction). Long straight legs with good pastern and feet. Rear angulation to match with good

straight hocks and long second thigh. Her movement even for a baby was so true both coming and going and side profile showed a lovely lift in her stride. Beautiful to watch. I will follow her future with interest. BP, CC & BIS.

2nd Blackburn’s - Briza La Princesa Rosa de Podi (imp). Slightly different but with excellent breed type. Foreface falling away a little. Flat skull with prominent occiput. Good eye colour and ear set. Elegant neck in to good front assembly. Slightly rounded in ribs with short, strong loin. Good rear angulation with excellent flat thighs. Movement was very sound in all directions.

3rd Woodcock’s – Abbotsoak Grease Lightning.

Junior Bitch (2) 1st Woodcock’s – Abbotsoak Matilda. Another sister from the same litter and of excellent type and balance. Not quite as mature as her siblings and needs time to settle. Super litter and congratulations to the breeder.

2nd Brown’s – Beladona Rjabina de Bergerac (imp) Darker red more heavily set bitch with good head and expression. Excellent large ears. Good overall angulation and strength to work the ground. Movement was erratic and she needs to come together in the front and settle into her stride.

Post Graduate Bitch (3) Worrall’s - Alanaura Unseen Unicorn. Mainly white very feminine bitch with lovely head and ears. Kind expression. Long lean neck and good steep shoulder into straight front legs with good pastern & feet. Conforms in length of body to the standard with short loin. Correct rear angulation to balance with front. Straight hocks and well let down. Movement was perfect once she slowed down a little showing a slight hover over the ground. Res CC, Res BIS.

2nd Carter’s –Afilador Room on the Broom Sh.CM. Good head and expression with correct ear position and use. Eye colour blending with the coat and giving a kind expression. Good front and rear angulation although pasterns could be stronger. Movement needs to tighten in front and carrying a little too much weight.

3rd Brown’s - Bozena Rjabina de Bergerac.

Limit Bitch (2) 1st Hamilton & Rainsbury – Kalo Skilo’s De Immortal Juno with Harrisclub (imp). Mainly white with excellent feminine head. Correct planes with only slight stop and convex muzzle with strength to underjaw. Correct ear position and use. Long elegant neck into well placed shoulder, slightly steep and of good length. Straight fore legs and strong pasterns. To be critical, she was carrying a little too much weight which detracted from her elegance. Good length of body and excellent rear angulation with straight rear pasterns. Moved as required in the standard with some hover.

2nd Benstead’s - Plymouth Road Runner van Oxymoron at Itibi. Different type but of excellent qualities. I preferred head of 1 today but never the less correct in all points just preferred the expression and softness of 1. Shoulder, upper arm and body conform fully to the written standard and she did move out well with slight hover.

Open Bitch (4) 1st Hall’s – Ir Ch. Afilador Pandemonium Sh.CM. A feminine bitch with a lovely head and correct planes, slightly defined stop and good eye shape and colour. Well set on and used ears. Elegant lengthy neck into neat front assembly. Correct pastern. Ribbing just slightly rounded but of good length and strength across the loin. Movement was tidy and at correct speed.

2nd Marston-Pollock & Whalley’s – Ch. Falconcrag Marchesa. Lovely red/white bitch with good overall head shape. Strong ears, well used. Beautiful crest of neck into steep shoulder with good return of upper arm and straight front limbs. Depth of brisket at the required 2 inch above elbow. Good body shape with moderate rear angulation. Hocks straight and strong. Movement today was a little sluggish but I am sure she can cover ground well.

3rd Woodcock’s - Gartlove Gabbana. 4th Drake-Brockman’s - Barnesmore Artemis.

Special Open Smooth Coat Bitch (3)

1st Brian’s – Abbots Oak Sky of Flames.

2nd Hamilton & Rainsbury – Kalo Skilo’s De Immortal Juno with Harrisclub (imp).

3rd Carter’s - Amahte’s Bewitched (imp). Elegant bitch, different in type but with correct overall balance. Movement was a little too fast and this made her close behind.

Special Open Mainly White Bitch (1)

1st Hamilton & Rainsbury – Kalo Skilo’s De Immortal Juno with Harrisclub (imp).

Special Open Mainly Chestnut or Lion Bitch (1) Absent

My sincere condolences to Amanda & Nick Carter for the loss of their beautiful girl.

Veteran Bitch (3) 1 absent

1st Clark’s – Benjique Forget Me Not at Caneqiss. Really liked this bitch for type and balance. Correct head shape with slight stop and prominent occiput. Good eye colour and well placed ears. Long neck into desired steep shoulder and upper arm configuration. A little down on pastern but as a veteran, that is to be expected. Excellent body shape with flat rib and good depth still allowing the required 2 inch above elbow. Movement was straight and precise and she showed a slight hover. Best Veteran.

2nd Drake-Brockman’s - Barnesmore Artemis.
